Miniature tribute albums lend themselves to a variety of materials and creative embellishments. They can be created from unusual leftover materials (plastic page protectors, brads and fiber or ribbon) or have a more traditional look (with the purchase of small mini albums). Here, designer Desiree Tanner shares instructions for creating a fun keepsake with your child--a mini-album that features best friends and the fun they have together!
 |

One way to create a tribute album is to use plastic page protectors, tied together by ribbon, through with the completed page slides into. It's easy and inexpensive!

This mini-album features one subject--in this case, the Little League experiences of teammates.

My Best Friends Materials: 4" x 6" album paper white card stock sticker letters Xyron adhesive ribbon scalloped decorative-edge scissors colored pens clear contact paper
- Cut several pieces of white cardstock into 3-3/4" x 5-3/4 " pieces. Mat these pieces onto colored cardstock. Trim with scalloped decorative-edge scissors.
- Have your child include the names, things they love to do together, and a hand drawn picture of each friend on the white cardstock sheet.
- Slip a 4" x 6" photo of your child and their friend on the opposite side of the album next to the name, memories and hand drawn picture.
- Cut two 16" portions of ribbon. After coating white card stock with Xyron adhesive, place one piece of ribbon under the white cardstock sheet with the child's self portrait on it. Secure it to the inside cover of the album. (Do the same on the inside back cover with a plain 4" x 6" sheet of white cardstock).
- Press these sheets down onto the front and back inside covers of the album, securing the ribbon in the process. Have the excess ribbon come out from behind the cardstock halfway between the top and bottom of the album.
- Decorate your album cover with paper and stickers.
- Place your child's photo in the first page protector of the album and have fun filling the rest of the album!
