Bring the color and warmth of the fall season to your scrapbook pages. Stamp guru Shelli Gardner uses a few colors of ink and fall-themed stamps to dazzling effect.

    Materials:

    12" x 12" vanilla cardstock
    12" x 12" black cardstock
    8-1/2" x 11" vanilla cardstock
    Muted olive green cardstock
    Navy cardstock
    Olive ink pad
    Navy ink pad
    Mustard gold ink pad
    Stamping sponge
    Blender pen
    Fall-themed stamps
    Letter stamps
    Adhesive
Stamp cleaning pad and stamp cleaner
    12" x 12" paper trimmer
    Scissors
Black marker or pen (for journaling)

    1. First, use black cardstock to mask (figure A) right two-thirds of vanilla cardstock (to protect it during the stamping process).

    2. Then, select a color of ink for each stamp. Stamp one stamp numerous times on the left third of the page to create a decorative sidebar. Vary the sizes of stamps, and use smaller stamps to fill in blank areas between larger stamped designs (figure B).

    3. Use stamping sponge to apply same color of ink over each stamped design (figure C).

    4. Remove black cardstock overlay (figure D).

    5. Sponge olive ink in light spaces between stamped designs to blend the colors together.

    6. Next, use letter stamps and navy ink to stamp "Fall Photos" on vanilla cardstock.

    7. Use blender pen (figure E) to apply mustard ink over "Fall Photos". Tip: The lid of the ink pad can be used as a palette (figure F). Lightly trace around each letter to create a soft, muted effect (figure G).

    8. Mount the completed "Fall Photos" heading to a strip of navy cardstock.

    9. Add olive cardstock over the right two-thirds of page (next to the stamped sidebar).

    10. Mount photos to navy cardstock. Add mounted photos and heading to the scrapbook page.

    11. Finally, for added embellishment, stamp and sponge individual leaves to match those on the sidebar, cut and position around photos on page (figure H).

Sandi's Tip: Details on fall-colored leaf die-cuts can be enhanced with metallic copper pens.
