Materials:photo twin markers by EK Success matte black-and-white photo 1. Tinting a matte photo is easier than a glossy finish photo: matte paper will accept color more easily. Begin the process by first coloring the focal point of the photo. Next, highlight additional areas of interest in the image. The large brush tips of the pens work well for most broad applications; fine brush tips work best when adding color to small photo details (figure A).
2. Apply color until the picture has the desired look (figure B). Be careful not go over the same spot on the photograph too many times or the dampness of the ink will cause the photo to disintegrate in that spot. Instead, allow the layers of color to dry before adding additional shading. When the photo has achieved the desired look, let the tinting dry before matting the photo (figure C).
Metallic-Wax PolishingMaterials: metallic-wax polish plain picture frame with relief small rag small paintbrush 1. Squeeze polish on a finger (figure D). 2. Rub a base color of the polish on the raised parts of the frame (figure E). 3. Add detail using different colors of wax. 4. Buff off excess polish with a rag (figure F).
