    Funky Frames

A great picture deserves a great frame! Using decorative paper and game pieces, it's easy to customize a frame to match any photo.

    PHOTO

    Funky Frames
    Materials:

wood frame blank with a large face
    scrapbook paper
    game tiles
    game tile tray
    paper glue
    E6000 glue
    fine-grit sandpaper
    craft paint
    foam paintbrush
    scissors

    1. Paint the frame with craft paint and allow the surface to dry. When it's dry, lightly sand the edges of the frame to age the paint finish (figure A).

    2. Cut a piece of decorative paper slightly smaller than the frame. To create a border, place the cut paper on top of a piece of complementary paper and trace around the edges. Move 1/8" out from the trace line and cut out the border.

    3. Line up the first piece of paper on the frame. Holding the paper in place, turn the frame upside down. Use a pencil to trace the area where the glass and photo will be visible.

    4. Cut out this section of the paper (figure B).

    5. Use paper glue to attach the paper to the face of the frame – push out any air bubbles under the paper with your fingers (figure C). Glue down the border to complete the frame (figure D).

    6. Next, pieces from a word game are used to further decorate the frame. Using E6000 glue, spell out a name and glue the letters to the game piece holder (figure E) (figure F). Glue the holder to the frame.
