    Photo Collage Box

    Project designed by Bethany Mann.

    Materials:

bold print large piece of wrapping paper (non whiny surface preferable)
contrasting smaller pieces of fine print wrapping or origami paper in multiple patterns
2 small pieces of crepe paper in multiple patterns
    cellophane double-stick tape
    double-stick foam tape
    fine gauge wire
full body photos of friends printed on plain paper, cut out like paper dolls
    glue stick
the letters P A R T Y printed on card stock (about 1/2" high) and cut out as squares
    pencil
    scissors
    wire cutter
    long straight edge

    1. Wrap the box in the bold print paper.

    2. Measure the paper carefully (top times two and side times two plus three inches overlap) and use a straight edge to trim. The next trim is the width of the box. This cut is very important. The measurement will be top extra large and sides times two with no overlap.

    3. Wrap the paper around the box. It is essential that the box be centered on the paper.

    4. To insure a tight fit, tape the paper to the box so that you can pull the paper snuggly before you tape the back seam. Fold over the overlap, crease tightly and tape in place.

    5. Next, place the box seam side up and fold down the top edge of both sides evenly. Crease all edges as you go for the tightest fit.

    6. Fold in all four corners, making sure they all match, and crease again. Fold the tab that is still resting on you wrapping the surface over about 1/2" and tape in place.

    7. Select the paper for your background pattern and cut it to fit in the center of the front surface of the box. You will want a border on all sides of the bold print "base paper". Center carefully and secure in place with double-stick tape.

    8. Place the photos of friends on the backdrop, guest of honor in the center, and trim the crepe paper curtain. You can make origami paper "tie backs." Play with the placement of the items until you are happy with the layout.

    9. Use a glue stick to adhere the photos to the backdrop.

    10. Curl the wire three times around your forefinger and trim. Make five of these curls. Pull very lightly so that they look like springs.

    11. Cut a piece of double-stick foam tape the length of the backdrop.

    12. Stick the bottom curl of the wire to the backside of the foam tape so that the wire curls over the front side.

    13. Center and secure to the box on the top of the background making sure to catch the crepe paper curtains under the bottom part of the tape.

    14. Cut an additional strip of decorative paper to cover the front of the tape and adhere it to the front without trapping the wire underneath (that should still be curling over both the tape and paper).

    15. Adhere the P A R T Y letters to the top of the wire curls with small pieces of foam tape and cover the sticky backs with small scraps of decorative paper.

    16. Embellish photos with paper party hats and presents. Accent with glitter glue.
