  • Learn how to roller stamp a photo frame mat.
    From "Craft Lab"

Guest Lisa Shepard Stewart and host Jennifer Perkins each create a carved design in flexible stamp material with adhesive backing. They then attach their new stamps to lint brushes and decorate a mat by rolling the stamp for a continuous stamp look.

    Roller Stamped Photo Frame Mat

    1. Carve designs into the stamp material. Makes some practice cuts on a scrap piece to get the "feel" of the tool.

    2. Peel off the paper backing and apply the stamp around the lint roller (figure A).

    3. Apply paint(s) to the stamp with a sponge brush.

    4. Roll the continuous design along the frame mat (figure B). Let dry.

    5. Assemble the photo and mat into the frame.

    Tips:

    • Always use the tool in a motion cutting away from yourself and your hands.

    • To cut the rounded designs, rotate the stamp material, controlling the cutting tool with the other hand.

    • Remember that all raised areas will appear as solid paint color, so it is important to cover the surface with cuts for optimum visual impact when stamped.
