    PHOTO

The military keepsakes are secured and protected behind glass.
Expert framer Shahnaz LaCaze helps a war veteran create a suitable display for his military badges, medals and keepsakes. In this third phase of the project, Shahnaz shows how to wrap a foam core backboard, spacers and pedestal with fabric, create a form for displaying a military jacket and sew the jacket to the fabric covered backboard.

    Materials:

    fabric
    small roller
    small paint tray
    fabric glue
    scissors
    blow dryer
foam core pieces (already cut to size in segment 2)
    craft knife
    pencil
    tape measure
    tapestry needle
    nylon thread
    thimble
    quilting gun
    glass filament tape
    silicone glue

Tip:When choosing a fabric for your backboard, it's always a good idea to complement the piece you are framing rather than the room where it is to be displayed.
