    Cold Laminate Technique

    Project designed by Elizabeth Dunn.

    Materials:

    laminate sheet
black and white copy from a laser printer
    shallow tray with water
    trading cards
    paint

    1. Cut laminate sheet about the size of your black and white image. Remove the protective backing and place sticky side on top of the image. Burnish it.

    2. Dip the card into a tray with water. Begin rubbing the white paper with your fingertips (figure A). Continue to rub until the paper is removed.

Note: The acetate will stay sticky even though it has been in the water.

    3. On a trading card, take some paint and create a painted background of your choice (figure B). You can also add words and letters.

    4. Place the acetate, sticky side down onto the trading card.

Tip: A great idea for a candle is to stamp a design on a piece of laminate and color with markers. Peel off the back and place the acetate on your candle (figure C).
