    Materials:

    wrapped gift (plain paper works best)
    glue sticks
    tacky glue
    scrap decorative papers
    rhinestones
    floral decorative punches

    1. Use decorative punches and scrap paper to create floral shapes (figure A).

    2. Glue floral shapes to the wrapped gift; glue extra embellishments, such as rhinestones, to the center of the flower (figure B) (figure C).

    3. Let glue dry and add a decorative bow (figure D).

    Waxed-Paper Envelope

    Special cards call for special envelopes, and this homemade waxed-paper envelope really does the trick.

    Materials:

    iron and ironing board
    brown paper grocery bags
    waxed paper
    kraft paper
    fillers, such as dried or fresh flowers, leaves, glitter; peacock feathers, crayon shavings, rickrack and embroidery floss
    scissors with a decorative edge
    sewing machine

    1. Cover ironing work surface with kraft paper (figure A).

    2. Cut out two sheets of waxed paper, both large enough to cover the template (figure B) (see link, at right).

    3. Place fillers between the sheets of paper (figure C).

    4. Cover layered waxed paper with a piece of kraft paper and press with a hot, dry iron (figure D).

    5. To make the envelope, trim paper to fit the template (figure E). Fold layered waxed paper along template lines and stitch envelope sides as close to the edge as possible (figure F) (figure G).
