Guest Elizabeth Dunn joins host Jennifer Perkins to demonstrate how to use clear embossing powder and stamps to make a patternand then emboss the powder with a heat tool. She spritzes the page with water then drops ink on the ink spreads and bleeds between the embossing and creates a batik effect.

Paper BatikProject designed by Elizabeth Dunn. Materials: clear embossing powder mulberry or rice paper clear/tinted embossing pigment ink rubber stamps water-based dye ink, liquid (e.g. food coloring) spritz bottle with water pan paint brush heat tool - Stamp image(s) using pigment ink on rice paper.
- Pour on embossing powder all over stamped images. Tap off excess powder and return to jar.
- Heat embossing powder with heat tool until all granules are melted.
- Put the rice paper into pan and spritz surface with water.
- Dab a dot of one or two liquid inks off to the side of the paper, but in the pan, using it as a palate. Brush on the inks onto the paper, watering down the color by diluting them with extra water in the pan.
- After satisfied with the results, remove paper from the pan and reheat using heat tool to dry.
