  • Metallic Pens
  • Create fun colors for your craft papers using heated metallic ink.
    From "Craft Lab"
    episode DCLB-129

Guest Elizabeth Dunn joins host Jennifer Perkins and applies metallic pen ink to glossy cardstock, then spritz with water to create puddles of shiny ink. A heat from the heat tool is used to create fun colors and shapes by drying the cardstock.

Metallic pen ink spritzed with water and then heated creates some unique patterns on cardstock—as seen here.
    Metallic Pens

    Project designed by Elizabeth Dunn.

    Materials:

    metallic pens with retractable nib
    glossy cardstock
fine mist spritz bottle with water
    heat tool
    black embossing powder

    1. Dot two to three different colored pens several times on glossy cardstock. Start with the lightest color and dot the most. Dot the fewest with darker colors.

    2. Spritz card evenly with water until the colors begin to bleed together.

    3. Heat the surface with a heat tool, pushing puddles towards edges and allowing excess fluid to run off paper.

Variation: If you desire a textured/rusted surface, sprinkle black embossing powder sparingly in wet puddles prior to heating surface (Step 3).
