    • Use duct tape or other waterproof tape to mask off an area on the mould. Build up a few layers of tape to create some depth. Pull a sheet of paper using this mould; the matching deckle is not necessary in this case.

    • Create an envelope template on paper. Place the template on a flexible plastic placemat. With a pen or pencil, trace around the template. Remove the template and cut out the deckle. Put the envelope deckle between your mould and deckle and proceed with pulling sheets of paper. In both cases the sheets will form in the custom-designed size, with a true deckled (feathered) edge on all edges.

    • You can create handmade greeting cards using colored pulp and a variety of techniques including laminating, adding petals and pulp pigmenting. To make a laminated card, place small bits of colored pulp on the couching pad. Cover with a plain sheet of paper. When dry, fold in half to create a greeting card.

    • For petals, make three sheets of handmade paper using three different petal blends: red carnations in white pulp, yellow carnations in pink pulp and pink carnations in white pulp. When dry, fold the red carnation sheet in half. Tear a piece of yellow carnation paper into a square measuring 3" x 3". Tear a piece of pink carnation paper into a size that is 1-1/2" x 1-1/2". Affix the 3" x 3" square on the front of the card using a thin layer of white craft glue. Place the smallest sheet on top and affix with white glue. Lightly press the piece under a magazine for one half hour, then allow to dry.
