You burn your own CDs, so why not create original covers that reflect their contents?
Tools: 1 12"x12" sheet of decorative scrapbook paper (cardstock) 2 12"x12" sheets of scrap cardstock ruler pencil bone folder (or old credit card) compass scissors envelope closures and decorations: stickers, ribbon, additional scrapbook paper printed with CD information, monogrammed envelope foil seals and/or die cuts
Building the Template, Part 1Use the compass to draw a 5-1/2"-diameter circle (figure A) and a ruler to draw a 5-1/2"x5-1/2" square on a piece of scrap cardstock. Cut out both; cut the circle in half (figure B).
Building the Template, Part 21. Trace the square in the center of a 12"x12" piece of scrap cardstock (figure C). Line up the straight edge of the half-circle to the four side edges of the drawn square and trace (figure D). Cut the template out of the cardstock. 2. Center the cardstock template on the back of the 12"x12" decorative scrapbook paper and trace lightly with pencil (figure E). Cut out the CD cover.
Back Cover1. Fold the half circles in toward the center. Use a bone folder or an old credit card to crease the edge and create a finished look (figure F). 2. Decorate the front cover with additional scrapbook paper, stickers, a large die cut, etc. (figure G). Place CD in the center of the cover and fold the flaps inward. Seal with either a sticker or a foil seal (Figure H), or tie the envelope with ribbon.
