    Paper Punched-Art Cherry Blossoms
    Tools:

decorative paper in many colors and textures
    1" blossom-shaped paper punch
    small green-paper leaves
watercolor paper (the size of your frame)
    acid-free glue stick
    brown acid-free brush-tipped marker
    pencil
small tree branch (the appropriate size for the paper--this will be used as inspiration for the organic lines of the cherry -tree limb)
    frame

    1. It's important to remember that there is no right or wrong way to do this project. Paper punched art is free flowing. Don't worry if you make a mistake: just add an extra tree branch or glue an extra paper-flower shape.

    2. Using the tree branch as a guide, sketch limbs on the watercolor paper with pencil. Fill in the limbs with the brown brush-tipped pen (figure A). Add branches for a fuller look. Add 1/4" notches on the branches to create new buds (figure B).

    3. Punch several blossom shapes out of the decorative paper (figure C).

    4. Arrange the blossoms and leaves on the paper and secure with the acid-free paper glue (figure D), layering and grouping the petals in threes adds to the overall composition. When you're happy with the design, pop it in a frame and hang.
