1. Use a paper trimmer to cut 9-1/2" x 7" pieces from each of the black and red card stocks. 2. Crease them both at the 4-1/2-inch mark.
3. Use the border punch to punch a sunburst border down the right side of the black piece (figure A).
4. Use the paper trimmer to cut a vertical rectangle in the top left hand corner of the front of the black punched and creased piece. The rectangle should be 1-3/4" x 3-3/4".
5. Cut a rectangle of acetate 2-1/4" x 4-1/4".
6. Stamp Geisha girl with black ink onto the back of the acetate sheet (figure B).
7. Hold heat gun approximately 6 inches away from stamped acetate and dry for 30 seconds. Note: Do not hold heat gun too close to the acetate or it will melt and distort.
8. Sponge a light layer of gold metallic ink onto the back of the stamped Geisha girl (figure C).
9. Dry with heat gun for 30 seconds. Repeat for a second coat if desired.
10. Apply mounting to tape to unstamped side of acetate sheet. Center under cut rectangle in black punched piece and press into place.
11. Apply mounting tape to front side of all four edges and several strips in center of black punched piece with stamped acetate adhered. Care should be taken not to apply mounting tape to punched area of black piece.
12. Place black piece, tape side up, inside red creased piece and press firmly into place.
13. Use bamboo stamp and gold ink to stamp bamboo onto left hand corner of the front of the card and continue on the top right hand corner of the card.
14. Dry ink for several seconds with heat gun.
15. Cut two 1-1/2" x 5" origami strips. Punch one long edge of each strip with the border punch (figure D).
16. Use the boning tool to accordion-fold each punched strip into a fan (figure E).
17. Cut two strips of black card stock approximately 1/8" x 1".
18. Pinch the unpunched end of the accordion-folded origami strip (figure F) and wrap black strip around bottom. Secure with hot glue. If needed, use clothespin to hold strip in place until glue dries.
19. Cut embroidery floss into 4- to 6-inch pieces. You will need approximately two to three of each color you have chosen.
20. Gather ends of floss together evenly at one end and adhere together with glue. Allow to dry thoroughly.
21. Cut two 1/2" x 4" strips of origami paper. Use boning tool to fold one side over to the center of the strip. Fold opposing side over the first folded side to form a folded strip.
22. Place one folded strip diagonally onto card at top left corner of the vertical rectangle. Adhere with hot glue and use scissors to trim at side and top of card. Repeat for bottom left hand corner of card.
23. Place embroidery floss at top left corner of the vertical rectangle on top of the adhered origami strip and adhere with glue.
24. Place one accordion fan over floss and adhere with glue.
