    1. To make the stationery set cover: Use metal ruler, pencil, and paper trimmer to cut two pieces 12" x 7-3/4" of light blue card stock. Using mounting tape, firmly adhere the two pieces of card stock together.

    2. Use rotary cutting tool with scoring blade to score a straight line across adhered card stock 5-3/4 inches from each short end. Use boning tool to fold and crease at each scored line.

    3. To make a card/envelope holder (see the PDF Pattern file at the right): Use metal ruler, pencil, and paper trimmer to cut two 7-3/4" x 11" pieces of medium blue card stock.

    4. Using one piece of the medium blue card stock, score a line 1/2 inch from each short end. Fold and crease with boning tool. (Note: Dotted lines on PDF Pattern are fold lines.)

    5. Mark and score a line 4-3/4 inches in from each fold. Fold and crease these lines with boning tool.

    6. Mark and score a line 1/4 inch in from each long side. Use tip of scissors to cut away a small indentation at scored center lines and corners.

    7. Use boning tool to fold and crease 1/4 inch scored lines into center (figure A). Apply mounting tape to folded sides of 1/4-inch pieces. Fold scored piece over, align 1/4-inch pieces, and press firmly together with tape. This forms one side pocket for a card/envelope holder (figure B).

    8. Repeat steps 3 through 7 with the second piece of medium blue card stock for the other card/envelope holder.

    9. To make ribbon ties: Cut ribbon into two 12-inch pieces. Apply two 1-inch strips of tape at one end of ribbon piece. Press into center of short end of scored and folded light blue card stock piece (from steps 1 and 2). Repeat at other end with second piece of ribbon.

    10. Apply mounting tape generously to all four back edges and center back of assembled card holders.

    11. Align one cardholder approximately 1/4 inch from each end of scored and folded light blue card stock. Press firmly into place. Adhered card holders should completely cover adhered end of ribbon.

    12. Use border punch to punch a border across front of each note card (figure C). Place punched cards into one card holder.

    13. Use border punch to punch one time at center of back of envelope flaps (figure D). Place punched envelopes in opposite card holder.

Note: If desired, you can punch a design down the entire length of the envelope flap; however, this will remove a good bit of the glue from the envelope flap and you may need to apply additional glue when using the envelopes.

    14. Cut a 2" x 7-3/4" strip of pale blue card stock. Use border punch to punch a continuous design down both long sides of strip (figure E). Apply mounting tape to back of strip on both sides and adhere to top right side of stationery holder approximately 1/2 inch from right side (figure F).

Note: Take care not to apply tape to punched areas of strip or tape will show through and be sticky through the punched areas. Apply tape directly beside the punched areas.

    15. Cut a 1" x 7-3/4" strip of medium or darker blue card stock. Use border punch to punch a continuous design down both long sides of strip. Apply tape to the back of the strip and press onto center of adhered pale blue punched strip (figure G).

    16. With cards in one side and envelopes in the other side in stationery folder, tie ribbons together to secure and finish.
