    Doily-Decorated Shirt

    • Use a heavyweight shirt or a light knit top.

    • Pin the doily in place an zig-zag stitch to attach, using
a contrasting thread and a random stitch pattern. Hold
the doily in place as you feed it through the machine (figure A).

    • Add embroidery stitches in a contrasting thread. Sew on beads or sequins and paint with textile paints (figure B). Read the instructions on the textile paints—the colors may need to be set with heat.

    • Ready, set, wear!

    Doily Tile

    • Glue a doily to a tile with decoupage medium or white glue, and seal with more decoupage medium or glue over the top.

    • While the glue is still wet, sprinkle with seed beads or bits of polished glass.

    • You also can use paint to embellish.
