Make the most of your loveliest linens.
Fancy table napkins can be far too beautiful to hide away in some drawer, especially vintage ones that have elaborate designs or sentimental value.

Michele Beschen believes in showing off your everyday treasures. She shares her inspirations on how to embellish your loveliest linens and hang them proudly for everyone to enjoy. Scroll down for her ideas.

    Napkin Wall Art

You can simply frame and hang your favorite fancy napkins using a store-bought frame or by stretching them over an artist’s canvas. If you want to really B. Original, you’ll try some of these ideas for embellishing them first. If you do embellish, Michele Beschen recommends you do it before you stretch or frame them to keep from damaging the napkins.

Note: For best results, follow the napkin’s existing design and colors with any color or embellishments you add. This will help keep everything harmonious.

    • Use an embroidery hoop to hold the fabric still when you stitch or add embellishments (figure A).

    • Stitch around patterns with embroidery thread. Colors should be similar to those already in the napkin.

    • Add sequins and beads (figure B), brush on textile paint (figure C) or stitch artificial leaves and petals to floral designs (figure D).
