Necktie BagMaterials: 2 colorful neckties 2 cloth napkins sewing materials - Lay out one cloth napkin wrong side up and fold one edge in about 1/5 of the way.
- Flip the napkin so the right side is up with the folded edge toward you. Place one necktie as a handle on the right side of the napkin, with the ends extending slightly past the fold (figure A). Make sure the tie is positioned how you want it for the handle, then pin it in place and stitch down with a zig-zag stitch along both sides of the tie (figure B).
- Repeat the process with the other napkin and necktie.
- Place the two napkins right sides together and stitch all the way around the sides and bottom, about ½" in from the edge.
- Turn right side out, and you have a simple, stylish tote (figure C). If you want to get more elaborate, you can line the bag with napkins in a complimentary color. You also can experiment with bags of different sizes and shapes, based on the same necktie-handle design.
