    Customize clothes hangers with letters, designs and images. This is a great way to encourage children to have fun picking up their clothes!

    Personalized Coat Hangers

    Materials:

    wooden clothes hanger
    light-grit sandpaper
    craft paints and brushes
    spray varnish (or any type of varnish)
    small paper image
    découpage medium
    masking tape
    scrap ribbon
    small rhinestones
    Gem-Tac glue

    1. Lightly sand the hanger and wipe away dust with a damp cloth.

    2. Paint the hanger on both sides with craft paint and let dry. Use a variety of paintbrushes and colors to add stripes, polka dots, wiggles, etc.

    3. Apply découpage medium to the hanger and the back of the small paper image (figure A). Place the image in the center front of the hanger (figure B).

    4. Apply a light coat of découpage medium to the entire hanger to even out the surface and let dry (figure C).

    5. Tape off the metal hanger hook and varnish the wood surfaces. Let the varnish dry before removing the tape.

    6. Adding hanger details: tie a bow around the metal hook and use Gem-Tac to attach small rhinestones to the hanger (figure D).
