You’ll be the envy of the neighborhood after you spruce up your front door with an attractive wooden monogram decorated with silk flowers and floral-print craft paper.

    Monogrammed Front Door Plaques
    Materials:

    6" wooden letter
    fine-grit sandpaper
    white craft paint and paintbrush
    floral-print scrapbook paper
    glue stick
    hot glue
    1 large silk hydrangea
1/4" decorative ribbon (enough to go around the letter + 10")
    small rhinestones

    1. Using fine-grit sandpaper, sand the top of the letter. After sanding, paint the letter with craft paint and let dry (figure A).

    2. Trace the letter onto the back of the scrapbook paper (figure B). Cut out the tracing and glue to the front of the letter (figure C). Use your fingertips to press out any air bubbles that might form under the paper.

    3. Break the hydrangea apart into petals and use hot glue to attach the petals to the top of the letter (figure D). Glue the petals in a random pattern along the letter; add rhinestones for decorative effect.

    4. To form a hanger for the letter, cut 10" off the ribbon. Turn the letter over and attach the ribbon hanger by forming the ribbon into a U shape and hot-gluing the ends to the letter (figure E).

    5. Add the remaining ribbon around the outer edge of the letter (figure F).
