    Homemade Fire Logs

    Materials:

large stack of newspaper, glossy inserts removed
    water
    large tub
    string

    1. Start rolling newspaper diagonally (figure A). After rolling halfway, insert another newspaper and continue rolling. Continue inserting papers to make a layered log (figure B).

    2. As the log gets wider, tuck the outer edges inside and continue rolling (figure C). When the log is completed, tie both the center and ends tightly with string (figure D).

    3. Soak the logs in a tub of water for 15 minutes. Next, remove the logs and let dry thoroughly (approximately 5 days). Soaking the logs compresses the newspaper, making a more solid log.
