    Hot-Tea Toddies and Shortbread and Rum-Frosting Sandwiches
    Hot-Tea Toddies

    Ingredients:

    3/4 c. steaming hot tea
    1/2 tsp. lemon juice
    2 Tbsp. good-quality whisky or bourbon
    1 Tbsp. honey
    1 cinnamon stick

    1. Combine liquid ingredients in a footed mug, add the honey and stir with the cinnamon stick (figure A) (figure B) (figure C).

    Shortbread and Rum-Frosting Sandwiches

    Ingredients:

    10 shortbread cookies
    2 c. confectioner's sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1-1/2 Tbsp. rum
    1 tsp. milk or water

    1. Melt butter.

    2. Mix in sugar, rum and milk (or water) (figure D).

    3. Spoon mixture in the center of 5 cookies (figure E). Top with remaining 5 cookies (figure F).

    4. Chill 30 minutes to set frosting. Remaining frosting can be refrigerated for several weeks.
