Fluffy, fun and fashionable—a great no-knit scarf.
It's fun to embellish clothing and accessories with tassels—but have you ever thought of making something entirely out of tassels?

Michele Beschen did, and it was a big success: The B. Original host's no-knit tassel scarf is warm, fluffy and beautiful. Even better, it's easy to make, with no specialized skills (like knitting) required. The materials are commonplace, and the techniques are easy enough that you can have the kids pitch in and help. It's a fun way for the whole family to B. Original.

Don't forget to check out Michele Beschen's no-knit wrap scarf, crafted with several yarn colors and textures.

    Materials:

    textured yarn
    4" x 4" ceramic tile or cardboard
    yarn needle
macramé beads or other large beads

    • Wrap loops 10 full wraps around the tile or cardboard (Figure A).

    • Tie off tightly with another piece of yarn or string (Figure B). Cut off tile or cardboard opposite tie-off point.

    • Repeat to make 38-40 tassels per scarf.

    • To assemble scarf, cut a 54" piece of yarn and tie a knot in one end. Thread the other end through a yarn needle.

    • Start tying tassels to the long piece of yarn, alternating sides as you tie them on.

    • After every two tassels, slide a large bead over the yarn needle and onto the yarn (Figure C). You can use any large bead with a large center; macrame beads work well.

    • Continue tying and beading until the 54" piece of yarn is full. Tie off securely to finish.

This fluffy textured scarf will keep you warm—and stylish—on even the most blustery days. It's a cozy way to B. Original!
