Lay the fabric right side down and center the board over the back of it. 2. Wrap the corners c around the board, keeping the fabric taut for a flat surface; staple the fabric to the back of the board with a staple gun (figure A).
3. Continue around the board, wrapping the edges and stapling the fabric around the back of the board (figure B). 4. Glue a felt square to the back of the board (figure C).
5. Glue ribbon or trim around edges of the square (figure D). 6. Working on the front of the board, using chalk to mark the positions for nails across the bottom of the board, beginning approximately 1/2" from the edge. Mark at 1/2" increments along the left side of the square, perpendicular from the bottom (figure E). 7. Nail finishing nails at each of the marks (figure F).
8. Begin stringing by tying one end of the cotton yarn to the finishing nail at the topmost left corner. Bring the yarn down to the second nail from the left in the bottom row (figure G). Loop the yarn around this nail and bring it back up to the next available nail in the vertical column (the second from the top) (figure H). Continue wrapping, moving from vertical to horizontal nails, filling the next available nail (figure I). When the nails are filled, wrap the yarn in figure-eights, starting from the bottom right nail across to the bottom left nail and up to the top left nail (figure J).
9. Tie off the end of the string and clip with scissors (figure K). 10. Stop at this point, or make three more panels to complete a starburst wall arrangement.
