    Dice Tire Valve Caps
    Materials:

    4 metal tire valve caps
    white polymer clay
acrylic craft paint in 2 colors
    paintbrushes
    spray varnish
    large safety pin
    oven
    index card
    baking sheet used for crafts

    1. Using a large safety pin, remove the rubber gasket from the valve cap and set aside in a safe place (figure A). After baking, you'll replace the rubber gasket.

    2. Condition the polymer clay by kneading it for a minute. This will redistribute the plasticizers and polymer fibers in the clay. If the clay feels flexible and can be pulled easily without breaking immediately, it's ready to go.

    3. Form the clay into a ball about 3/4" in diameter. Using your fingers, press the ball into a cube shape (figure B). Place the metal valve cap in the center of the cube and pinch around the edges to secure (figure C).

    4. Place valve side down on a cookie sheet lined with an index card and bake per polymer clay brand instructions. Allow to cool. Replace the rubber gasket, using the safety pin.
