    Materials --

    Purchased duvet cover
    Seam ripper
    Scraps of fabric
    Gac 900 acrylic medium for clothing
    #2 paintbrush
    Button making kits (available at craft stores)
    Scissors
    Double-stick tape
    Acrylic paints
    Small bowl water
    Paper towel
    Needle
    Thread

    1. If there are buttons on your duvet that you want to replace, take a seam ripper and remove the buttons. Remove any loose threads where you removed the buttons.

    2. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for making the buttons.

      Tip: Take a piece of double-stick tape and place on top of the button cover and it will help hold the fabric in place (figure A) when you start to assemble the button.

    3. Make a 50/50 mixture of the Gac 900 and the acrylic paint.

    4. Dip the paintbrush in some water and then dab it on a cloth.

    5. Dip the brush into the paint and then wipe off any excess paint so that you won't get a big dollop of paint.

    6. You can use different colors of paint to match your fabric. It makes it more interesting and charming if you paint each button in a different pattern (figure B).

    7. Sew buttons on the duvet in the place of the removed buttons.
