Guest Sonya Nimri joins guest Jennifer Perkins and demonstrates how to take a lamp base and cover it with foam spheres. She then covers the sphere with masking tape and uses gold leaf along with copper and silver accents for a metallic look.

 Create this lamp by covering the base with foam spheres and then gold leafing the foam.

Project designed by Sonya Nimri.Materials: stick lamp base Three 6" plastic foam balls gold, copper and silver leaf leaf sizing masking tape 8" saw 1/2" brush black acrylic paint Bulbous Gold Lamp Base - Make a line down the middle of the foam balls and cut them in half with your saw.
- Make a small groove down the middle of each half ball so that the lamp stem can fit snugly inside your ball (figure A).
- Mask the ball closed, making sure that every bit of foam is covered by tape.
- Brush sizing on with your brush according to the directions on the package.
- Gold leaf the balls (figure B), then add specks of silver and copper where there are holes.
- Lightly brush the balls with black paint and rub it in.
