    Handmade ribbons bring the look and feel of the state fair home and prove who’s really number one!

    "You’re a Winner" Ribbons
    Materials:

    pieces of ribbon: approximately 1 yd. per ribbon
    hand sewing needle and thread
    stick-on letters
    scrapbooking paper
    optional: grommets, large button, pin back

    1. Fold a length of ribbon in half; tuck in the sides at the fold to form a point (figure A). Cut a piece of scrapbook paper that will be hidden on the back of the ribbon. Print or hand-write a message or prize on the paper (figure B). Use stick-on letters to write a message on the ribbon like "Super Star!" and use a grommet to securee.

    2. Alternately, using a running stitch, stitch along the bottom edge of a length of ribbon and gather into a rosette. Stitch a large button in the middle (figure C). Add a ribbon tail with the ends cut on the diagonal. Use stick-on letters to write a message on the ribbon tail. You can also use a circle of paper in the center of the rosette to write your message (figure D). Attach a pin back, if desired (figure E).
