    Materials and Ingredients:

    Cake mix
    Flat bottomed ice cream cones
    Frosting
    Sprinkles
    Candy toppings
    Muffin tin
    Bowl or cup with a pouring spout

    1. Mix cake batter as directions specify.


    2. Place cones in muffin tins and fill 3/4 of the way. Don't overfill because the batter will simply run over the edge and cause the cone to sag. Allow to cool.


    3. Fill a pastry bag with frosting and squeeze onto the cupcakes in a swirling pattern to simulate the look of a soft-serve ice cream cone (figure A).


    4. Decorate as desired.
