Cleaning Gold Jewelry
Cleaning Pearls- The best way to clean pearls is to wear them. The oil from your skin will keep them soft and lustrous.
- If you don't wear them often, buff them with a microfiber cloth (figure D) or a soft cloth with just a dab of olive oil on it. Buff them very well.
Cleaning Diamonds For hard stones, such as diamonds, a quick swish through some inexpensive vodka will make them sparkle like new. Don't do any of this if any of the stones are loose. If the diamonds are heavily soiled, you can use a toothbrush to gently brush them.Cleaning a Cameo - Take a little talcum powder or cornstarch. Use a toothbrush to gently buff it. You have to be very gentle with cameos. Brush it off and then rinse it well.
