    Materials --

    6 strands of coral and jasper beads
    8mm crystals in garnet and orange/watermelon colors
    4mm "ruby" and orange/watermelon crystals
    3mm "garnet" crystals
    2 small gold jump rings
    5 loop multi-strand clasp
    Beading wire
    Crimp beads
    Jump ring
    Pendant (optional)

    Tools --

    Wire cutters
    Crimpling pliers
    Jump ring pliers

    1. Select beads and crystals for variety in size, texture, color and shape.

    2. Design five strands for the necklace with these lengths: 14", 17", 19-1/2", 21-1/2", and 24" (figure A).

    3. Cut five lengths of beading wire 36" long.

    4. String the beads according to your design. This is the time to check the lengths, and the way they sit on your neck. Make any necessary adjustments.

    5. Attach the strands of beads to each half of the multi-strand clasp using crimp beads. Thread some of the extra beading wire through a few beads on each end and trim off the excess.

    6. Depending on how the necklace hangs, add a pendant from one of the strands of beads in the center (figure B). An antique earring that was repurposed for a pendant was used on this necklace.
