Corset Cuff- Cut leather or suede into two strips measuring 1" in width and approximately 7" in length (measure your wrist and add 1" to fit the cuff exactly).
- With a needle and contrasting color thread, sew the hook onto the edge of one of the strips. Evenly space the desired number of hooks and sew onto the strip.
- On the edge of the remaining strip, sew the eye portion of the closures to match the hooks already attached to the first strip.
- Once all of the closures are sewn into place, slip the hooks into the eyes to join the two strips together (figure A).
- Using the craft punch, punch a hole in each end of both strips where the snaps will be attached (figure B).
- Using a snap fastening tool, attach the snaps to the bracelet.
Patched Leather Cuff - Cut leather or suede (figure C) into four equal size rectangles, two of each color. Size will vary according to wrist size. Wrist size can be found by measuring around the wrist and allowing 1" to allow room for closure (i.e. for a 7" wrist, cut four pieces 1" wide by 4" long).
- Using the criss-cross stitch setting on a sewing machine, sew together one of each color strip end to end.
- Do the same with the remaining two pieces.
- Line up the two long strips so that the colors next to each other are contrasting (figure D).
- Sew the pieces together, again using the criss-cross stitch.
- Cut a piece of material the entire size of the cuff (i.e. 2" x 8") to sew on the back of the patchwork, putting right sides out and using criss-cross stitch to create edge (figure E).
- Affix self-adhesive Velcro to each end of the cuff.
- Using this technique, you can create a variety of different styled cuff bracelets (figure F) -- personalized to go with any outfit or occasion.
