Opera Length Freshwater Pearl Necklace1. Cut four 4.5" segments of chain, and cut four 12" segments of Soft Flex (figure A). 2. Attach Soft Flex to chain with crimp bead (figure B).
3. String silver bead and crystal bead. Repeat this five times and then add a crystal rondelle bead. Repeat this process for nine inches (figure C).4. Attach a crystal strand to another piece of chain. 5. Attach another piece of Soft Flex to the other end of the chain. 6. To alternate the look, do another chain using pearls. String a silver bead, an oval pearl bead, another silver bead, then a diamond-shaped pearl. Repeat this process for nine inches (figure D).
7. Repeat the process two more times until you have two strands of crystals and two strands of pearls (figure E) -- making the strand equal 54". 8. Attach a clasp and extender chain (you may add a crystal to the extender chain with a headpin).
9. To make the freshwater pearl trapeze pendant, choose to use a different medium thin chain and opt for a velvet cord.
10. Cut three 29" pieces of velvet.
11. Cut twelve 3/4" pieces of chain.
12. Cut four pieces of wire; three 2" and one 3-1/2" piece.
13. Start by laying out the pattern with the loose wire, beads and chain.
14. The objective is to make a series of triangles, one at a time (figure F).
15. To help you with your design, create a diagram (figure G). Connect the triangles as you progress from top to bottom and left to right.Note: The diagram posted on the Website will prove to be beneficial and help to simplify making the pendant. 16. Using the wire attached to the rondelle (which is the top of the necklace), string a silver bead. Then, wire wrap chain A and B together. 17. At the opposite end of chain A, wire wrap chain A, C and D together. String them on the wire in that order. 18. Enter chain A from the right side and form the loop downward. The point is that when complete Chain A is on the top side of the loop and chain C and D are on the bottom side of the loop to form the next triangle. Note: The significance of the positioning is more evident when you are actually making the necklace. 19. Add a pearl to the wire, then wire wrap chain E, F and B together. 20. At the opposite end of chain C, wire wrap chain C and G together. 21. String a pearl to the wire; then chain H and the opposite end of chain D, then a silver bead and the opposite end of chain E, then chain I and another pearl, and then wire wrap chain J and chain F to the end. 22. Wire wrap the opposite ends of chains H and G and chain K together. String them on the wire in that order. Entering chain H from the right side and forming the loop downward, string a pearl on the wire. Then wire wrap chain I, J and L together (also in that order). Thread headpin with crystal and attach opposite ends of chains K and L. 23. Attach pendant to velvet using Soft Flex as a needle (figure H). Thread all six ends of the velvet through another rondelle for a sliding clasp. 24. Knot velvet ends to secure clasp.
