    1. Use cardboard to cut out the patterns. Trace the petals onto the wrong side of the suede. Petals are traced using permanent ink pen. Notice there is slight size variation in the petals and that the small petals begin the rose's center and the large petals are the outer rose layer (figure A). You will cut three of the A size, four of the B size, four of C size, six of the D size and one E size.

    2. With a toothpick, spread glue along the bottom edge of one A petal and then roll it into a tight coil (figure B).

Tip: It is a good idea to keep a wet rag handy when gluing fabric to keep your hands clean because you do not want to transfer glue to the wrong piece .

    3. Put glue on the upper edges of the other two A petals and then fold it in twice. Lay them down and press them flat.

    4. Wrap and glue the two A petals around the center coil, offsetting petal positions opposite each other (figure C). You can stitch if you prefer, or combine the glue and stitching.

    5. Continue to glue the upper edges of the B petals (and all the remaining petals) in the same manner as the two A petals were glued. Chain gather-stitch the four B petals together (figure D), using the glover's needle. Pull thread to gather the petals. Position around the center. Stitch in place. Chain the four C petals together. Chain the six D petals together.

    6. Glue or stitch the third and fourth petal layers to the rose.

    7. Allow the glue to dry (use E-6000 adhesive).

    8. Fix the hot fix rhinestones to a few of the outer petals, using the hot fixer tool.

    9. Stitch the pin back to the rose underside (figure E), using the glover's needle.

    10. Glue the back piece in place for a clean finish.

    11. The rose can also be used for a choker, hairpiece, etc.
