    Jump rings

    Needle nose pliers
    Chain nose pliers

    FYI: Byzantine is basically a bunch of jump rings weaved together to create a link.

    1. Close two jump rings and put them on a wire or string holder (figure A).

      Note: You can buy your jump rings, or create your own. To create your own, you need a dowel and some wire. Just wrap the wire around the dowel (figure B) and then cut into individual rings.

    2. Put two more jump rings on the first two jump rings and then two more on top of that so that you have a chain of jump rings: 2 in 2 in 2.

    3. Flip the last two jump rings back so that they lie against the first two jump rings that you started with. Push the flipped jump ring forward and set two more jump rings in the #3 jump ring between #2.

    4. Continue this same procedure throughout the desired length of your bracelet (figure D).

    5. Once you have your desired length, pull it taut and add clasps to each end.
