    Materials --

    24" fat gold ball chain
    Gold end loops
    Gold necklace clasp
    Gold jump rings
    2", 1-5/8" and 1-1/4" colored disks from colored craft foam in 60's colors: yellow, orange, pink, red

    Tools --

    Circle templates
    Jump ring closing tool
    1/8" hole punch
    Flat nosed pliers
    Curved (fingernail) scissors

    1. Attach the necklace clasp to the chain, using the loops to create a loop at each end of the chain.

      Note: The purple and green "S" earrings were made from 20mm green and white laminated round beads from Fire Mountain Gems.

    2. Carefully draw and cut out as many circles in different sizes as you like. Or, you can buy the packaged precut foam pieces.

    3. Punch holes in the colored disks near the edge (figure A).

    4. Lay out the chain with the disks, spacing them out and overlapping them. It is usually a good idea to have the biggest ones in the center and the smaller ones towards either end.

    5. Attach the disks with the jump rings.

      Note: This necklace (figure B) would be a fun project to do with your daughter, niece, etc.
