- Pre-measure the ribbon to your neck so that it is comfortable.
- Add clasps to the ends of the ribbon to make it easier to put on and take off.
- Tape the ribbon to the flat tool, then wind the 22-gauge wire around the flat tool (figure A).
Note: If you do not have the flat tool, you can use any flat object -- like a popsicle stick, etc.
- When you are through wrapping the wire, take needle-nose pliers and make a swirl to hide the ends (figure B).
- When you pull the wire off the flat tool, it will twist itself (figure C), but you can twist it more if you want. If you like the flat look, take a roller and roll it like you would an iron, and flatten it out.
- To create the pendant, take the piece of corkboard and place the tacks down in a pleasing pattern. Take the piece of 14 gauge copper wire and bend the wire around the tacks to create a pattern for the pendant. Using the round nose pliers, make a loop at the beginning and end of the wire (figure D).
Note: If you do not have corkboard, tacks, etc., you can twist the wire around your fingers to make a design (figure E). You can add beads to the wire for embellishment if you don't want just plain wire.
- Attach the pre-made dangle to the pendant, and place aside.
- Attach the cord tips to the ribbon.
- To finish the necklace, use the round nose pliers to attach the pendant to the coils.
