    1. Cut two copper pieces 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" for the locket covers (figure A). Hammer with the mallet to create a textured finish, then heat the copper to enhance the color.

    2. Apply clear embossing ink to the front and back covers. Pour on embossing powder and heat to melt the powder.

    3. Add a touch of Pearl Ex powder with a soft brush (figure B). Heat to set the powder.

    4. Remove the pin from the hinge and replace with an eye pin created from 20-gauge wire. Use pliers to create a small loop on one end and a decorative spiral on the other end of the wire.

    5. Attach the front and back covers to the hinge with double-sided tape.

    6. Cut three pieces of decorative paper, 1-1/2" x 1-3/4". Punch a circle in one piece, creating a locket picture frame (figure C).

    7. Adhere the paper liners to the inside covers of the locket using double-stick tape (figure D).

    8. Apply thin strips of double-sided tape to three sides of the picture frame and adhere to the inside back cover. Insert photo into the frame.

    9. Cut a 36" length of black cord and lace through the eye pin. Knot the ends to secure the cord.
