    1. Cut out the image, leaving a small white border, and place it face down on a conditioned piece of white polymer clay. Working on a piece of waxed paper, use the tissue blade to trim the clay slightly larger than the image.

    2. Rub the image gently with your finger, then burnish it firmly with a bone folder. Place the clay and paper, paper side up, in a small tub of water until the paper detaches from the clay (figure A). Remove the paper with tweezers, then remove the clay from the water and let it sit for 1 minute. Pat the image gently with a smooth paper towel to remove any remaining water.

    3. Prepare the brass frame by washing it, sealing it with a matte acrylic spray and drilling a hole large enough to hold an eye pin.

    4. Position the frame, with the hole at the top, over the image. Push the frame partially into the clay (figure B) and trim any excess clay around the frame edges. Push and trim until the frame is flush with the bottom of the clay.

    5. Cut a piece of conditioned gold clay slightly larger than the framed image. Apply Translucent Liquid Sculpey around the back edge of the framed image and place the back firmly on the gold clay (figure C). Trim away excess gold clay.

    6. Carefully insert the eye pin, from the outside of the frame, into the clay and bake according to the manufacturer's directions. When cool, partially remove the eye pin, apply super glue to it and immediately reinsert it into the clay.

    7. Add a jump ring to the eye pin, then attach the pendant to a chain or cord.
