    Making the Pendant

    1. Run an eye pin through each amber bead and create a loop at the other end.

    2. Thread a 4" length of brass wire through the five loops, pull together, then twist one time. Do not cut away excess wire; it will form a five-pointed star.

    3. Cut a 10" length of wire and make a loop through one end.

    4. Shape into a circle approximately 2" in diameter.

    5. Thread five or six beads onto the wire, insert through one loop at the end of an amber bead and continue until the beads form the perimeter of the star circle. Use the same number of beads between each point of the star to ensure the star will lie flat (figure A).

    6. Thread the wire through the beginning loop and bend up at a right angle. Form a loop to go over the neck cord.

    7. Finish the center of the star by running one end of the excess wire through the larger bead and wiring it back down so the center will be snug. Cut off any excess wire.

    8. Attach the pendant to a neck cord.
