    1. Mix one-half of the gold with one-third of the green to create a metallic lime green color. Roll the clays out on the wide-open setting of the pasta machine and cut out triangle shapes (figure A).

    2. Fold triangles in half. Insert the clay into the pasta machine, with the fold side down. Roll through on wide open. Fold exactly the same way and repeat until the colors are blended sufficiently (figure B).

    3. When you like the blend, turn the clay 90 degrees and roll through the pasta machine on a thinner setting, to create a long thin strip of gradated color. Roll this strip up, starting at the gold end.

    4. Reduce the diameter of this rolled clay to the diameter you wish for your leaves. Press one side of the roll down to create a teardrop shape.
Using your plastic knife or sculpting tool, press into the sides of the clay on either side of the point (figure C). This creates a more complex leaf. (The bamboo skewer can be used to add the veins to the leaf surface.)

    5. Use your remaining copper clay to create a long thin coil, at least 12 inches long. Coil this clay into a random vine shape (figure D), creating two loops at the top for hanging the finished pendant.

    6. Use bamboo skewer to attach the leaves to the coiled vine (figure E). Once leaves have been arranged as desired, bake the pendant according to package directions and loop coordinating yarns through the upper coils.
