    Erica Batchelder's completed paperclay pendant.
    Materials:

    4 oz. Creative Paperclay
    brown acrylic paint
    blue-green pearlescent pigment powder
    cookie cutters
    rubber stamp in a motif of your choice
    silver craft foil and adhesive
    cup of water
    paper towels
    paintbrushes
    waxed paper
    rolling pin
    round toothpick or darning needle to poke holes

    1. Place Paperclay on wax paper and roll to 1/4" thickness, then press rubber stamp firmly into paper clay.

    2. Cut shape with cookie cutter, smooth edges with water as needed and poke holes for clasps, chains or findings, as desired.

    3. If a curved piece is desired, form the clay gently over a pencil or pen and allow to dry (figure A).

    4. Paint front and sides with brown acrylic paint (figure B). Allow to dry, then repeat on back side.

    5. Brush on foiling adhesive, burnish with finger (figure C) and allow to dry until just tacky to the touch, then apply foil following manufacturer's instructions.

    6. Brush pearlescent pigment (figure D) over entire piece (it will settle into recessed portions). Allow to dry.

    7. Brush a thin coat of glaze on the front, allow to dry, then repeat for back surface.
