- Begin by preparing briolettes. First, take 2" piece of silver 24-gauge wire and thread on briolette leaving 1/3 wire on one end of briolette and 2/3 wire on other end. Bend wire as shown in diagram for 6 briolettes, 3 for each earring (figure A).
- Take headpin and prepare center hanging piece (figure B) threading as shown in sequence. (Each item in the material list has a letter at its side. Use this key for the sequence of the beading). After beading the headpin, cut off excess headpin leaving 1/4" of wire. Form loop using round nose pliers. (Starting at the head end of the pin: A, 3-E, B, E, G, E, 3-E, C).
- Take another 4" headpin and thread (figure C) in the following sequence (starting from the head of the pin): H, A, I, J, I, D, B, D, I, J, I, C, Briolette, C, I, J, I, E, G, E, B, Briolette. Reverse the order, working back to H.
- Form a loop at the end of the headpin as well as cutting off the head of the pin and forming a loop on that end. Turn the loops so that they face each other as shown in the diagram.
- Using the nail of your thumb press down on the headpin at the point of the middle briolette bending the two sides of the headpin up.
- Place your thumb at the point right before the side briolettes, one at a time, bending the wire out to the sides. Then right after the briolettes, press down again bending the wire toward the top and meeting the loops on the ends of the wire.
- Position the center hanging piece you prepared between the two loops of the earring headpin (figure D), lining up the holes of the loops. Using a 5 mm silver jump ring, connect the three loops lastly adding the loop of an ear wire.
