Stained Glass and Polymer Jewelry From "Jewelry Making" episode DJMK-204

	An elaborate necklace created from Parrish's technique.

Guest artist Jennifer Parish uses authentic stained glass and clay to create jewelry with one-of-a-kind panache!

Materials:

Stained Glass
Polymer clay
Findings: headpins, eye pins
Metallic craft paints
Craft sealer/finish
Beads for necklace
Glass cutter
Craft knife
Imprinting tools (found objects, metal bangle bracelets, etc)
Small paint brushes, q-tips
Oven

1. Cut Stained Glass to size, then file or grind sharp edges away.

2. Condition a layer of clay to cover the entire piece of glass and wrap it around the back. Press into place around edges of glass.

3. Trace desired design onto clay, then cut out with a craft knife.

4. Embed findings in the top (and bottom if desired) of the pendant. Imprint texture onto clay with found tools.

5. Bake for manufacturer's recommended time.

6. Add several layers of paint for an antiqued appearance. If desired, bake again for strength and durability.

7. Add jump ring and earring findings.
