Jackie Guerra shares a technique for creating a expressive graphic pin. Here, Guerra creates a peace sign using beads and safety pins.

Materials:

1 large (1-1/2") safety pin
13 standard size (1") safety pins
White, purple & black seed beads
Glue
Toothpick

1. Assemble 3 white beads, 4 black beads and then 3 white beads.
   Be careful not to poke yourself!

2. Assemble second row with 2 white beads, 1 black bead, 4 purple beads, 1 black bead and 2 white beads.

3. Follow your pattern placing the beads as directed.

4. Assemble the final pin by putting the pins with white, black and white beads in them first, then put the 6 reaming pins.

5. So that they don’t fall off the bigger pin, open the hinge all the way and slide around.
