Gilded Bead From "Jewelry Making" episode DJMK-111

Ordinary wooden balls are turned into gilded pendants with the help of a little gold-leaf paint.

Host Jackie Guerra shares a simple technique for turning ordinary wooden beads into beads of gold!

Materials:

large wooden bead
sharpened skewer
gold-foil or silver-foil marker
protective spray coating
sandpaper

1. Roughen wooden bead with sandpaper (figure A).

2. Insert skewer into the bead.

3. Paint metallic color onto the bead with marker (figure B) .

4. Stick into plastic foam.

5. Spray on a protective covering.
