Note: Because this beaded comb accessory will be sitting against your scalp and in your hair, it's important to twist the wire carefully as your work. Work slowly if needed for accuracy.

    1. Working from back of hair comb to front, place 5" piece of wire through the gap 2 out from center of comb. Bring wire up through gap, leaving a 3/4" tail. Twist it twice at the top of the comb (figure A). Cut off any extra remaining on the tail.

    2. Next, string 20 beads onto the wire then bring it down on the opposite side of the hair comb in the gap 2 out from the center. From the back to the front of the comb, bring it through the gap, up the front of the comb and twist 2 times at the top of the comb (figure B). Cut off remaining wire. You will want to leave a little space of wire next to the beads for the twist.

    3. Take the other 5" piece of wire and twist it onto the hair comb in the same manner one out from the center making sure the long tail is in front of the first loop you made. Add 7 beads, and bend the wire over the center of the first loop, after the tenth bead (figure C). Add 7 more beads and attach it to comb the one out from the center of the comb on the opposite side.

    4. Take the 7" piece of wire and attach it to the comb in the 3rd gap from the edge of the comb. Add 34 beads and attach it to the opposite side of the comb in the 3rd gap (figure D).

    5. Next, take the 12" piece of wire and attach it to the first gap from the edge of the comb. Add 32 beads, and bend it around the loop you made previous at its mid point, after the 17th bead, from back to front (figure E). Add 32 more beads and attach it to the opposite side in the last gap.

    6. The 9" wire is next. Going down behind the loop you just made but in front of the next 2 loops then behind the comb in the gap as the middle most wire, attach it to the comb. String 56 beads. Bend the loop going behind the top loop, in front of the next 2 loops and behind the comb attaching it in the same gap as the middle wire (figure F).

Using the 4" piece of wire, bend a small loop at the end so the beads won’t fall off. Add 30 beads and bend a small loop at the opposite end, cutting off the remaining wire. Bend this beaded wire into a swirl or flower shape.

Attach the swirl or flower to the comb at the middle of the "M" shaped wir (figure G) with a dab of craft glue.
