    1. Cut out 2 pieces of leather using rolling blade and ruler. Cut 7-1/2" x 4-1/5" for main color of cuff; cut 2-1/4" x 2" in a contrasting color for the star motif.

    2. Trace star pattern onto the center of the backside of the longer piece of leather, cut out star using craft knife and straight edge (figure A).

    3. Glue smaller piece of leather over star cutout (shiny side down) onto the back of the larger piece of leather. Roll over it to strengthen bond and eliminate bubbles (figure B). Allow to dry.

    4. Hand-stitch smaller piece of leather onto larger one going around the edges of the star (figure C). Tie off at end on the back surface.

    5. Spread an even, thin layer of rubber cement across the back of entire piece, Allow glue to become tacky. Fold both long ends together so they meet in a straight seam at the center of the cuff (figure D). Roll over the seam and outer edges with brayer and allow to dry.

    6. Cut edges to desired length using a straight edge and a rolling blade.

    7. Place cuff on top of rubber-stamping block, punch 3 holes (figure E) on the short end of the cuff (smaller holes to insert railroad screw closures on one side, larger holes to fit screws through to latch cuff on the other side). Punch 3 slits with hole punch into the 3 larger holes to make room for screws to fit into the leather.
