    Figure A
    Project designed by Jennifer Traig.

    Patron Jew Votive Candle

    Materials:

    paper
    computer and printer or pen
    picture of your designated saint
    glue stick
    good craft glue
tall votive candle in glass holder
flat-back gems, beads, sequins, glitter, or whatever you want to decorate with

    1. Choose an honorific title for your Patron Jew, like "Bernie, Patron Jew of Righteous Kvetching," "Ira, Patron Jew of Angry Sciatic Nerves," Andrea, Patron Jew of Icy-Cold Tab." Use your computer and printer (or simply a pen) to inscribe the title on a piece of paper (figure A). The finished label will need to be about 7-1/2" long and 8" wide.

    2. Using your glue stick, glue the picture of your designated saint to the label you just made.

    3. Glue the label to the votive candle, using good craft glue.

    4. Use good craft glue to glue on flat-back gems, beads, sequins, glitter, or whatever you want. Allow glue to set.

    5. Light candle whenever the intervention of your Patron Jew is desired.

    Figure B
    Mah-Jongg Menorah

    Materials:

2 hex nuts, 1" in diameter
    9" stair bracket
    good, nonflammable craft glue
1 hex nut, 3/4" in diameter
    9 mah-jongg tiles
9 keps nuts, size 3/8th, 16th, or any nut that strikes your fancy (square nuts, cap nuts, and serrated nuts are all pretty snazzy)

    Mah-Jongg Menorah

    1. Glue your two 1" hex nuts to the bottom of your metal bucket. Allow glue to set.

    2. Glue 3/4" hex nut to the bottom of a mah-jongg tile. Allow to set, then glue to the center of the metal bracket. Glue four mah-jongg tiles on either side for a total of nine.

    3. Glue keps nuts to the top of each tile (figure B). Allow to set.
